Overview of the Role
The Project Lead orients, trains, and supervises volunteers (in groups and individually) in the performance of home maintenance projects (yard work and house cleaning). This individual works alongside volunteers in the delivery of client services. Project Lead orient and lead volunteers as they complete Age-in-Place® projects. This positio does not have management staff responsibilities. During the COVID-19 pandemic the Age-In-Place® program only provide yard work.

Key Responsibilities:
- Orients, trains and supervises volunteers (in groups and individually) in the performance of home maintenance projects (yard work and house cleaning).
- Works alongside volunteers in the delivery of client services.
- Maintains records of volunteers and seniors (i.e hours worked, names, organizational information).
- Provides follow-up responses to volunteers and seniors such as: thank you letters, emails, and phone calls, and well-being check calls.
- Assists Age-In-Place® Program Manager in conducting outreach and volunteer recruitment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience (volunteer and internship experience will be counted). This is an entry level position.
- Demostrated knowledge of volunteer recruitment and community organizing desired.
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including comfort with public speaking.
- Interest in key issue areas, particularly elder issues, youth engagement, and Homelessness prevention.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive.
- Demostratable leadership skills
- Maintain the policies and procedures provided by the District of Columbia as it pertains to COVID 19 regulations
- Clean background check
- Clean PPD and TB test
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Must be at least 25 years of age
Work Environment: Community-based
Work Schedule: September - May: Tuesday - Saturday; June - August: Monday - Friday
Essential Physical Functions: Ability to lift 35 pounds, to drive and to bend and stoop during project activities. This position entails considerable physical exertion.
