Seabury strives to continue to be the trusted community leader in aging services.
Position Summary
The Hub Convener is responsible for leading a new multi-organization coalition to advance aging services across Washington, DC Wards 5 and 6. Funded jointly through two separate grants from The Washington Home, this position serves as the connective tissue among 15 nonprofit grantees — driving collaboration, accountability, and measurable impact for older adults in the community.
The ideal candidate has roots in DC aging services, established relationships with community partners in Wards 5 and 6, and a proven track record of moving coalitions from intention to action. This role demands someone who can be simultaneously a strategist, a facilitator, a data steward, and an enthusiastic champion for the work.
Organizational Context
Seabury Resources for Aging is leading this coalition and bearing primary accountability for deliverables. The Hub Convener will report to the Managing Director of Programs, coordinate closely with Seabury's Lead Agency Director, and serve as the primary point of contact for all 14 partner nonprofit organizations and the funder.
Key Responsibilities:
Coalition Leadership & Facilitation
- Serve as the primary convener and relationship manager for a 15-organization coalition across Wards 5 and 6, fostering a culture of collaboration, trust, and shared accountability.
- Design, facilitate, and continuously improve monthly coalition meetings with grantees and The Washington Home funder, including setting agendas, tracking action items, and maintaining momentum toward grant goals.
- Serve as a resource and connector for partner organizations, facilitating referral processes and service integration across grantees.
Grant Management & Funder Relations
- Monitor all Seabury deliverables under The Washington Home FY27 Ward 5 and Ward 6 grant contracts, ensuring timely completion and reporting concerns to the Managing Director of Programs.
- Serve as the principal liaison to The Washington Home funder, maintaining clear communication on progress, risks, and accomplishments.
- Support partner organizations to understand, track, and fulfill their respective grant deliverables, providing technical assistance and guidance as needed.
Data Coordination & Reporting
- Work with the funder and the partner organizations to agree on shared data tracking systems and provide support with data collection, management and reporting.
- Support Lead Agency Ward 5 and Ward 6 program staff in collecting required grant metrics and performance data.
- Work with Seabury grant managers to provide content needed to produce clear, accurate, and timely progress reports Seabury grant related activities as well as on coalition-wide activities and outcomes.
Infrastructure Development
- Build from the ground up the systems, workflows, and norms that will support sustainable grantee collaboration beyond Year 1.
- Document processes and establish tools (templates, guides, shared calendars, referral protocols) that the coalition can maintain and adapt over time.
Success at End of Year 1
By the close of the contract term, the Hub Convener will have established a coalition that functions with clear shared norms and structures, not just during meetings. Specific markers of success include:
- A documented, functioning referral process between partner organizations that results in demonstrable service connections for older adults.
- Consistent, accurate data collection and reporting across all 15 grantees, delivered on funder timelines.
- A monthly meeting cadence that partners attend, find valuable, and that drives real progress on grant goals.
- All Seabury deliverables under both grant contracts met or exceeded.
- A written Year 1 infrastructure assessment and Year 2 recommendations ready for funder and lead agency review.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
